60 points would be a nice stretch goal for Stafford. 25g/35a is something I think he is capable of.

I guess that would mean ennis and foligno would also have big seasons pending the line stays or we would have the best pp in the league both of which id be happy with.

Same reason I dont like gagner, I dont like scoring in bunches Drew does all his scoring in a small group of games. Ryan is a #1 RW, never said Drew straight up for him it will take a top prospect and a top 2 pick

Stafford is a very solid #2.. the last two seasons he has battled an injury and an almost no show til the all-star break. (rumored personal problems)

having a solid 2RW who can score 30 goals and top 60 points is very cheap at only 4M. He even had 100+ hits last year which is more than double any other season.

Stafford should have been moved years ago. He did have a good season in 2010-2011, but if you actually watched him that year he was invisible half the time he was on the ice. It's great that he put up 31 goals but he also had 5 hat-tricks that year, which is incredible, however he scored half his goals that year in 5 games, leaving him with 16 goals in almost 60 games with just inst good enough for someone with that contract and the skills to be a solid 70 point getter if he chooses to show up for a full year

That is essentially what Sam Gagner is as well.. which a lot of people are excited about the potential of this trade with EDM.

I think Stafford is more consistent than Gagner.

I don't get how someone can complain about a player getting 5 hat tricks thats like saying.. sure Stamkos scored 60 goals but only 37 assists makes him a selfish player to his linemates.

Please dont jump on me for saying this guys. But ok so he scores 3 goals in a game say we win 5-1. How important were the goals? One thing that grinds my gears is OV will score 50 goals but have 13 empty netters so is he really even a 40 goal scorer?

Scoring in bunches is a tricky thing.. every player has dry streak that they go through.



If we trade Stafford+ for Ryan... we make our team better...


If we trade for Gagner and then trade Ennis for Ryan.. we make our wings better but even worse down the middle IMO.

that being said, Erik Cole is teh same guy as well. Penner makes 3.25 M and Cole Makes 4.5M. Stafford is midway.

I think his performance needs to be more consistant but his production vs. salary are just fine.

Yup, same can be said for every great scoring player. How many points does any player have with out empty netters. Part of the game. Maybe we shouldn't allow it to count. Also we shouldn't allow fluke goals because it wasn't an intential shot. sheesh. your wet blanket attitude is tiring.
